Two men charged after cannabis and cash seized

Police have charged two men, aged 37 and 41, with attempted possession of class B drugs, attempted possession of class B drugs with intent to supply and possession of criminal property.

The charges relate to the seizure of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of £150,000, and £15,000 in cash, following the search of a house in west Belfast on Wednesday.

Both men are due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, detectives in Co Londonderry have arrested a 36-year-old man in Claudy.

A police spokesman said: “The man has been arrested as part of the investigation into the seizure of a quantity of high purity cocaine from a vehicle stopped by police on the Dundrod Road at Nutts Corner on Friday, 20 November 2015.

“The man has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply a class A drug”.

Two men – a 53-year-old from Coleraine and a 31-year-old from Portstewart – have previously been charged in relation to the cocaine seizure.
