Two significant drug discoveries in Co Antrim
Firstly, a kilogram (2.2lb) of suspected cocaine was found in Newtownabbey.
It had been found in the Mayfield High Street area on Wednesday night, a residential area between Mallusk and the Hightown Road.

Hide AdThe PSNI said: “There is no doubt this was destined for distribution and sale on the streets of Northern Ireland and we are delighted to have removed it from circulation, reducing the potential harm to individuals and communities.”
Separately, Coleraine detectives, working with officers from Ballymena, seized class A and class B drugs following the search of a house in the Ballymena on Thursday.
Suspected cocaine and mephedrone with an estimated value of around £100,000 was recovered, and a 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A and B controlled drugs, possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs, being concerned in the supply of class A and B drugs, and cultivating cannabis.
