Veteran Belfast journalist dies at 62
David Culbert, a Belfast journalist for more than four decades, has died after a long illness. He was 62.
Mr Culbert, an east Belfast man, was a sub-editor and feature writer with the Irish News in the 1970s-early 1980s before moving to Sunday Life, first as deputy chief sub-editor before becoming deputy editor of the paper in the 1990s.
He started his journalistic career as a reporter with the Portadown Times/ News before moving to Belfast.
He is survived by his wife Nuala, daughter Julie and sons John and Luke.
He will be buried at Roselawn Cemetery in Belfast on Thursday.
