NI Weather: Temperatures set to reach sumptuous 16°C this week as long days of sunshine arrive

Unfortunately for all of us, enjoying the sun the way we might like is a luxury we cannot afford at the moment. However, if you are lucky enough to have some outdoor space then the next few days could help with what has been a challenging time for everyone.

Uninterrupted hours of sunshine with a high of 14°C is forecast for Belfast on Wednesday.

Thursday and Friday also look promising with steady periods of sunshine beginning on Thursday afternoon and lasting for most of Friday.

The maximum temperature forecast for Northern Ireland on Wednesday will be 16°C according to the Met Office.

An area of high pressure will bring a dry and settled few days with it not really expected to break until Saturday evening when some might see light showers.

The Mid-Ulster area of the province as well as Portadown and Lurgan are also set to share in the pleasant temperatures and the long periods of sunshine from Wednesday through to the weekend.

Newtownabbey, Larne and Carrickfergus will have to settle for a slightly cooler 13°C but like the rest of Northern Ireland will get a taste of hours and hours of sunshine.

Lisburn and Banbridge will see a high of 15°C and an exciting uninterrupted 12 hours of sunshine on Wednesday.

Ballymena, Coleraine and Ballymoney, although a cooler 12°C, will not be shortchanged when it comes to the sunshine which might even return at the weekend again.
