Willie Frazer condemns attack on office

Victims' campaigner Willie Frazer has vowed individuals who use advocacy services in a victims' support office in Markethill 'will not be put off' after a door in the office was smashed in the early hours of yesterday (Sunday).

Police are investigating an incident of criminal damage in the Fairgreen Road area of Markethill at 1.40am after it was reported that a window in the door of an office had been smashed.

Mr Frazer said: “There is nothing in that office that would offend anyone.

“We help people right across the political divide. But it is just a case that they can’t leave anything alone that contests their version of what the IRA did.”

Mr Frazer said the office is used to help victims of the Troubles and to record their stories.

“It is an invaluable service for many people who were affected,” he added.
