Windsor Park forced to shut because of Coronavirus COVID-19 - Linfield F.C. player tests positive for deadly disease

Windsor Park has been forced to close after a Linfield footballer tested positive for Coronavirus COVID-19.

Linfield F.C. Chairman, Roy McGivern, said it was "unpleasant news" for the Windsor Park based club.

"Very unpleasant news that one of our players has tested positive for Covid-19.

"The priority now is to look after the welfare of our players and staff. Issues around football will be addressed in due course," said Mr. McGivern.

Windsor Park will be closed for the next two days to facilitate a deep clean.

There are currently 16 confirmed cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 in Northern Ireland.
