Have your say on new funding plans to secure a brighter future for veterans

Brooke House is a registered charity providing safe, secure, specialist services for those who have served – and those who care for them. They deliver treatment and care through a range of support services. Have your say on their plans for future funding at an online consultation on October 21.
Brooke House health and wellbeing centre is setting out plans for a ground-breaking new phase of the Veterans, Places, Pathways and People (VPPP) programme – called Thrive Together – for the next three years.
Offering a range of support, their treatments and care include trauma-focused psychological therapy, physiotherapy, complementary therapy and nature-based therapies. They also provide bespoke activities based on individual needs.
Clients can self-refer to Brooke House or be connected by relevant statutory partners, community and voluntary organisations, as well as charities and groups.
Support for veterans and their families
Backed by the Veterans Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, the VPPP programme is dedicated to creating lasting, sustainable support for veterans and their families as they build stronger futures.
The original VPPP programme, which ran from 2021 to 2023, delivered direct support to veterans facing mental health challenges. The next phase, from 2024-2027, will take that work even further to ensure its impact will last long after the funding finishes.
The programme aims to enhance veterans’ physical and mental health via a nationwide network of services. Working with military charities, health providers and community groups, it offers access to a pathway of support. Therapeutic therapies include psychological support, as well as sporting, artistic and horticultural endeavours to improve overall wellbeing – as well as space to thrive and a place to connect.
Last year, an additional £10m of funding was pledged to the UK for the VPPP programme, with 10 regional centres to offer a helping hand to veterans and their families. Brooke House is one of those 10 regional organisations now putting forward its plans.
