Armagh return to league action needing to turn tables on Fermanagh

Armagh have started Division Two poorly. Defeats to Meath (1-10 to 0-8) and Laois (1-13 to 0-15) leave Kieran McGeeney's side bottom of the table and under a bit of pressure.

They face Fermanagh tomorrow needing to turn things around. The Erme men saw off 14-man Meath last time out, maintaining their impressive home record under manager Pete McGrath.

Armagh missed the Crossmaglen contingent in the early rounds, but even though the south Armagh men are largely back now, the squad has been hampered by injury.

Ethan Rafferty, Tony Kernan and James Morgan are among those expected to miss out.

Monaghan are without the experienced quartet of Dick Clerkin, Paul Finlay, Vinny Corey and Stephen Gollogly for the meeting with Dublin in Croke Park this evening.

Gavin Dougan and Jack McCarron are also out of contention at the moment, but Kieran Hughes is available again after an injury lay-off and starts at full-forward, having featured for UUJ in the Sigerson Cup last weekend.

“We are looking forward to it but we also know that if you’re not on your game playing Dublin in Croke Park, they will put you to the sword very quickly, so we have to hit the ground running and get up to speed very quickly but if we perform consistently after that, who knows?” said manager Malachy O’Rourke.
