ATHLETICS: Don Travers produces strong performance to retain Born 2 Run Castleward Challenge Half Marathon
The former cycling international from Newry City Club looked in control as he increased his advantage all the way to win by 64 seconds in 1:24:36.
Colum Gaile from Albertville was a good second with Ballydrain’s Richard Coey finishing third in a repeat of last year’s position.

Hide AdUnattached athlete Ursula Campbell was well clear in the ladies’ race coming in over two and a half minutes before East Down’s Joanne Foster with Janice White also unattached in third.
Martin Melville from Newcastle won the 10k event from Dermot Winters with Dromore’s Stephen O’Gorman taking bronze.
Niamh O’Connell from Murlough was impressive in winning the ladies’ 10k comfortably from Jennifer Teeney of Jog Belfast and Jessica Scott of Lagan College.
Meanwhile, Natasha Adams, Sinead Peoples and Ann-Marie McGlynn gave Letterkenny the silver medals behind Leevale in the ladies event at the Glohealth Irish Road Relay Championships at Raheny.
