James Tennyson lookng forward to British title showdown

James Tennyson is closing in on the biggest fight of hs career as he heads the Copper Box in London on April 30.

On that date at the London venue Belfast featherweight will challenge plplplplplplp for his British title.

It is a great opportunity for Tennyson to get hs hands on the British belt and Tennyson - who in recent weeks has sparred Carl Frampton and Josh Warrington - says he is looking forward to the challenge.

“I am excited and have been sparring away. I am working very hard and the British title is one that every boxer wants t0 win.

“Training has been going very well and I am not leavng any stone unturned in my preparation.

“Sparring with the likes of Frampton and Warrington has brought me on and I took lots of confidence from the way I sparrred with those guys,” he added.

And Tennyson says he thinks he will have the tools to take Walsh’s British title away from him.

“I have watched him a couple of times and am going there to win. I believe I can beat him and get my hands on that belt,” he added.

Also on the Copper Box bill Belfast super-flyweight Jamie Conlan will face plplplplpl for the Commonwealth title.

Conlan will be looking to get hs hands on the belt before movng onto bigger and better things in the coming month after signing a promotional deal with Frank Warren.
