The club, which only began two years ago, has over 200 members of all ages and will show off their future Carl Frampton’s and Katie Taylor’s and raise some much needed funds at the same time.

Sinn Fein MLA and Minister for Finance, Mairtin O’Muilleoir has visited the club several times and said, “Ormeau Road Boxing Club is changing lives positively and building confident communities through it’s busy boxing programme. The club is fostering admirable traits in our young people – discipline, respect, fitness - which will make them the leaders of tomorrow.”

South Belfast DUP MLA, Emma Pengelly, is equally full of praise for the work of the club.

“Ormeau Boxing Club has a tradition of excellence which is rightly recognised across Belfast.

“Sporting clubs like this play a pivotal role in the development of children into young adults which will shape society for years to come, after all they are our future.”

There will be food and refreshments at the venue and entertainment until late for those who have not already worked up a sweat in the ring.

Tickets cost £8 for adults and £4 for children and can be purchased from the club or at Rosario on the night. Doors open at 6.30pm.
