Peter Shields, who captained the club to a host of league titles and Challenge Cup successes, reflected on a golden era between 1999 and 2011 along with former opening batsman Neil Russell and David Kennedy, who spent five years operating at the peak of his game at The Green.

Shields gives the inside track on the signing of Taimur Khan, the departure of Andrew White to Instonians in 2003/04, and the ‘Connell-gate’ registration controversy that cost North Down the league title in 2006. All three talk frankly about the trophy that got away, the Irish Cup.

Kennedy also gives a fascinating insight into him winning just a solitary Irish international cap.
