Ballymena postpone fifth home game of 2026 after pitch inspection at Showgrounds

Ballymena United have been forced to postpone their Irish Premiership clash against Crusaders on Tuesday following a pitch inspection at Ballymena Showgrounds.

This marks the fifth postponement at the venue this year, continuing a run of fixture disruptions for the home side.

The remaining five scheduled matches will proceed as planned.

The latest setback follows a string of abandoned fixtures at the Showgrounds, including the league meeting with Glenavon on January 3 and two failed attempts to stage the Irish Cup fifth round tie against Larne, on January 10 and 20.

Ballymena United’s league encounter with Portadown also fell victim to the persistent rain, meaning that just two fixtures at Warden Street have reached completion in 2026.
