A 94th minute Stephen Murray strike earned a 3-3 draw with second placed Ballyclare - Point coming from behind three times to ensure they weren’t overtaken in the table.

Ballyclare thought they had won it when Dean Youle headed in for 3-2 as late as 88 minutes.

They’d have felt even more confident when Point midfielder Liam McKenna was shown a straight red card two minutes into injury time.

It wasn’t to be. Had double goal-scorer Corey McMullan played 90 minutes, perhaps that could have been a different story.

He was the leading light in the first half, netting twice to cap an all-round impressive performance. He opened the scoring with a penalty then restored Point’s advantage on the stroke of half-time, before being withdrawn injured.

John McGuigan was again on target for the hosts, his fourth in two matches. That made it 1-1 and McGuigan teed up the second equaliser.

His strong shot was saved for Stephen Murray to tap home his first of the day.

Murray had to work a little harder for his second as he ran onto Liam Bagnall’s through ball and rolled home the all-important equaliser.

Point are now a point ahead of Larne, who leapfrog Ballyclare after their 2-1 win over Harland and Wolff Welders.
