A superb performance in the first leg had given Glenavon the chance to progress, but they never got going and in the end the class of the Icelandic full-timers saw them canter to victory

It was the away team who had the ball in the net on five minutes when Chopart dashed clear as Glenavon appealed for offside and he easily beat Tuffey to make it 3-1 on aggregate.

Glenavon tried to recover from that blow but they were rocked again on 29 minutes when Chopart bagged his second with a cool finish.

Bradley found some space and got in a shot but it was deflected away from goal by the keeper.

If Glenavon thought the first half had been tough it was to get even tougher after the restart. A soft penalty award allowed Fridjonsson to make it 3-0 on 52 minutes. Ciaran Martyn was out of luck as he burst into the box but his effort was blocked and then Mark Sykes had a effort palmed over the bar by the keeper.

As the Glenavon legs began to tire KR took advantage to cut through the home defence and add two more goals before the end. Not the night Glenavon and their fans had hoped for, but the players will now take a short break before getting back into pre-season mode with some friendlies which they can now arrange.
