Finn Harps Sean Houston scores late equaliser to deny Derry City at home

Derry City have dropped to fourth in the League of Ireland table after Sean Houston's late, late goal earned Finn Harps a draw at the Brandywell.

A 20th-minute Ryan Curran header looked set to earn Harps victory before Derry launched a late fight back as Josh Daniels’ scored in the 84th-minute goal before Rory Patterson scored in the 88th minute.

But then Houston powered in a header in the first minute of injury-time to level the score much to the disappointment of the home support.

The visitors were good value for their 20th-minute lead as Curran nodded into the net after a David Scully shot had come back off the woodwork.

Daniels then scoreded his first senior goal for Derry on 84 after good work by Niclas Vemmelund and Boyle.

Young gun Daniels then set up Patterson to strike Derry ahead four minutes later.

But the Harps refused to give up and Michael Funston’s cross was brilliantly headed to the net by Houston to grab a share of the points.
