Northern Ireland international labelled 'top professional' after making Scotland loan move
Northern Ireland international Trevor Carson has been labelled as a “top professional” after completing a season-long loan move to Scottish Championship club Ross County.
Carson was a regular in Northern Ireland squads before making his debut against South Korea in March 2018 and has racked up eight caps.
The 37-year-old now joins countryman Ronan Hale at the Staggies in a temporary switch from Scottish top-flight outfit Dundee, where he played under current County chief Tony Docherty.
Carson has made over 300 senior appearances throughout his career, spending time with the likes of Sunderland, Cheltenham Town, Motherwell and St Mirren.

County suffered relegation from the Premiership last term despite Hale’s heroics – the former Cliftonville striker scored 18 goals across all competitions throughout his maiden campaign.
The 27-year-old has struck three times in six league fixtures so far this season, but the Dingwall outfit are yet to win a Championship fixture, a run which resulted in Docherty replacing Don Cowie in the dugout.
They’ve conceded a league-high 13 times across their seven fixtures to date and it’s hoped Carson’s experience can play a key role in turning their fortunes around.
“I’m delighted to bring Trevor into the club,” said Docherty. “He is a player I know well, having worked with him recently.
“Trevor adds fantastic experience and mentality to the squad, having made over 300 career appearances.
“He’s a top professional having excelled at both club and international level, and we know he’ll bring real quality and leadership to the squad.”
