It means Glenavon’s tie with Crusaders will now be played on the Friday night, April 1 (7.45pm) with Linfield’s meeting with Lurgan Celtic moved to the Saturday, April 2 (3pm).

Both games will be played at Windsor Park.

The PSNI cited a number of reasons for the request, including potential public disorder, raised community tension and other events occurring in the city on the evening of April 1.

After careful consideration the Challenge Cup Committee of the Irish FA agreed to the formal request and rescheduled the games.
