IRISH LEAGUE: Pat McGibbon hoping to break duck at Portadown

Following defeats by Coleraine and Glentoran, the former Manchester United defender is still craving his first win after taking over from Ronnie McFall, who quit earlier this month.

"We have two games over the next few days -- Warrenpoint and at Dungannon on Tuesday. We have to target points from those fixtures," said McGibbon.

"In saying that, we go into every game looking for full points. Obviously, it won't be easy. Warrenpoint are fighting for their lives. But we need to start doing the right things. We are in the bottom six simply because we haven't been performing. It's time to put that right."

McGibbon’s task will be made much more difficult as Sean Mackle will be missing -- the legacy off being sent off last week at the Oval.

"We are also missing Mark McAllister," added McGibbon. "He has two games left on a suspension. We were disappointed they way things panned out at the Oval last week.

"After getting off to a great start, scoring early on, we conceded just before half time, which was disappointing. In fairness, Glentoran played a majority of the football in the second half.

"Our fitness levels are not where they should be and that ultimately cost us. I've been in charge for three training sessions and I know what we need to work on. We need everyone pulling together over the last seven games."
