Karner in line for Derry City debut against Wanderers

Derry City manager Kenny Shiels could give recent signing Maximilian Karner a debut tomorrow (Saturday) night against Bray Wanderers.

Shiels was left impressed by the Austrian’s performance alongside Cristian Castells in the midweek friendly with Coleraine.

With Ryan McBride and Aaron Barry both ruled out from the backline, Shiels may opt to line out with Karner at in-form Bray.

“They haven’t been beaten since they played us last and they have kept a lot of clean sheets,” said Shiels, “We know how tough this going to be but I’m really hopeful we can get something.

“Aaron and Ryan are going to be out for a while and I can’t say how long.

“Max and Cristian are both available for selection.”
