The Town lost the lead on two occasions but maintain the two-point gap over Institute in the Danske Bank Premiership relegation battle.

Now Gray will send his side to face Larne with the challenge of internal reflection for external rewards.

“It is not my job to lift them, this week is their job to put things right,” said Gray. “It is not on the coaching staff or management team to fix what happened because you cannot fix that on the training field.

“That’s downright loser’s attitude and loser’s mentality - that loses you points when all you have to be is solid, resilient and together.

“The best teams in the world do it and we couldn’t do it for six minutes.

“Here is how it works at this football club and any proper football club - I work for the players and they are supposed to deliver on the pitch.

“If they don’t deliver they can’t expect people to keep dishing them out of tough situations.

“This is the first week since I have taken over I see this as a big reality check for us - the reality check is that type of performance is going to get us relegated.

“Games are running out, this club and the management team has backed every single one of those players and throwing that performance out is not unacceptable.

“The frustrating thing is we had an opportunity to open up a five-point gap.

“If we did that - based on stats of the season so far and there is no guarantee with us - but it would have been a huge task for Institute to bridge that gap.

“Now we continue to look over our shoulder to see what Institute do every week.

“We have to bring it back to basics and that hunger and drive which is what wins games in the bottom half of the table, it’s not about ability in these games.”
