Carrick Rangers confirm signing of 'exciting young talent' after Larne exit
Carrick Rangers have confirmed the signing of “exciting young talent” Jack Hastings after his departure from champions Larne.
The 20-year-old made two Premiership appearances for the Inver Reds and was one of four senior players confirmed to be leaving earlier this month alongside Cian Bolger, Kobei Moore and Ryan Nolan, who has joined Linfield.
Hastings spent part of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Carrick, playing 12 times in the league, and gained further senior experience at Armagh City last term.
He came through Larne’s scholarship programme and captained the Co Antrim club to Harry Cavan Youth Cup glory in April 2024.

Hastings now joins Jordan Forsythe as a new arrival at Carrick ahead of next season and Baxter is excited to work with the young striker.
“I am delighted to announce the return of Jack Hastings on a permanent contract at Carrick Rangers,” he said. “Jack is an exciting young talent at the start of his career and after a couple of good loan spells we are really looking forward to seeing Jack in a Carrick Rangers shirt again.”
After joining Carrick, Hastings said: “I’m happy to return to Carrick Rangers and looking forward to the challenge ahead.
"I’m keen to take every opportunity I get and to score some goals and help the team push on.”
