Glentoran praise for ‘outstanding’ Patrick McClean

The former Derry City centre-back arrived at The Oval last summer and McDermott was full of praise for the influence of McClean on the club progress.

“Paddy has been outstanding since he joined our club, both on and off the pitch,” said McDermott on the official club website. “He has proven his ability week in and week out and has shown maturity beyond his years.

“He’s a great lad to have around the club so we are delighted to extend his contract - I know he will give his all for Glentoran in the coming seasons.”

McClean expressed his joy at the continued commitment.

“I’m delighted to extend my contract at Glentoran,” said McClean on the official club website. “From the minute I walked through the doors I felt at home.

“The supporters, the staff and my fellow players have welcomed me in and I’m absolutely loving every minute of it.

“Mick has built an unbelievable squad and we all just can’t wait to get the season started and add more silverware to the Irish Cup we already hold.”
