Irish Cup fifth round draw in full as Dungannon Swifts begin defence against Championship club
Dungannon Swifts will get their Irish Cup defence underway against Ards – while the fifth round draw also threw up three all-Premiership encounters.
The Swifts collected the club’s maiden competition crown last season with a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory against Cliftonville.
Current Premiership leaders Larne have been drawn away to Ballymena United, who knocked the Inver Reds out of the BetMcLean Cup earlier this month, and high-flying Coleraine will take on Crusaders.
Elsewhere, Linfield will welcome Bangor to Windsor Park and Declan Devine’s Glentoran have been pitted against third-tier Strabane Athletic.
There will be a repeat of last season’s meeting between neighbours Annagh United and Portadown – the current Championship leaders defeated their top-flight rivals 3-2.
