Games OFF after Irish FA afternoon pitch inspections for midweek ties as adverse weather disrupts programme

Heavy rainfall across Tuesday has led to pitch inspections scheduled by the Irish Football Association before evening games on a busy midweek schedule of cup football.

Clearer Water Irish Cup ties previously postponed due to heavy snow and rearranged for Tuesday night now stand under threat following sustained rainfall.

The Irish FA announced across social medial the following planned pitch inspections:

Ballymena United v Larne (4.30pm pitch inspection) - MATCH OFF (new date - Tuesday, February 3, Ballymena)

Loughgall v Knockbreda (4.30pm pitch inspection) - MATCH OFF (new date - Tuesday, January 27, Loughgall)

Tuesday’s other outstanding fifth-round tie previously postponed is Glentoran v Strabane Athletic – with the Premiership club playing host to the Premier Intermediate League side in a venue switch from the original arrangement.

Knockbreda’s game had also been switched, due to the need for Loughgall’s floodlights.

The Glentoran tie appears on course, with no pitch inspection called to date.

Tuesday’s programme also featured the ToalsBet Senior Shield final at Crusaders’ Seaview between Carrick Rangers and Cliftonville.

The full sixth-round draw is as follows (ties to be played over February 06/07):

Limavady United vs Linfield

Cliftonville vs Glenavon

Portadown vs Dungannon Swifts

Warrenpoint Town vs Ballymena United/Larne

Carrick Rangers vs Coleraine

H&W Welders vs Ballymacash Rangers

Strabane Athletic/Glentoran vs Drumaness Mills

Knockbreda/Loughgall vs Institute
