John McGovern nets as Dungannon Swifts collect third consecutive Premiership victory with Glentoran triumph

FIRST HALF

4: First foul of the afternoon as Dylan Connolly is brought down by Bobby-Jack McAleese. Frankie Hvid wins first contact from the resulting free-kick but Dungannon able to clear the danger.

8: Daniel Gyollai goes long to David Fisher and his flicked header sends Jordan Jenkins flying in behind. His shot from a narrowing angle is hit straight at Declan Dunne.

15: Glentoran earn a corner as Connolly’s cross is deflected behind and Danny Wallace rises highest, but heads it out for another corner. Swifts able to clear their lines this time.

19: Steven Scott chops Fuad Sule down right in front of the Glentoran bench with what looks like a bad tackle. Shane McGonigle shows yellow but Glens bench – and fans – felt challenge deserved red.

22: Dungannon launch an attack with Leo Alves left in space on the left-flank before John McGovern and Kealan Dillon both launch efforts on goal – the latter earning a corner which ultimately comes to nothing.

26: Alves plays Scott through on goal with a pinpoint pass through the Glentoran defence and forces Gyollai into a fine save, but it would have been ruled out anyway with McGonigle spotting a push in the build-up.

27: Glentoran really should have went ahead as Paddy McClean heads back into the path of Kodi Lyons-Foster from a corner, only the the summer recruit to shoot wide with the goal at his mercy.

35: Summer signing Danny Amos is looking dangerous and puts another testing ball into the Dungannon box which Adam Glenny does well to deal with at the back post.

40: GOAL: DUNGANNON SWIFTS (JOHN MCGOVERN) – Swifts take the lead as McGovern scores for the second consecutive Premiership match after being played in behind by Kealan Dillon. The 21-year-old fends off Frankie Hvid before slotting under Gyollai, who got a touch on the ball. 1-0.

43: Glentoran almost respond immediately with Wallace clearing Connolly’s shot off the line before James Douglas fires just wide from the edge of the box.

HALF TIME: DUNGANNON SWIFTS 1 – 0 GLENTORAN.

Declan Devine makes two changes at the break with Marcus Kane and Cammy Palmer sent on in place of Kodi Lyons-Foster and James Singleton.

SECOND HALF

48: Dillon is pulling the strings for Dungannon and almost sends Thomas Maguire through on goal, only denied by Hvid’s well-timed tackle.

52: Scott finds space and attempts to play McGovern in, but substitute Kane makes an important intervention to deny the striker.

61: David Fisher cuts inside and unleashes a powerful shot which looks destined for the top corner but sails just inches wide.

64: Another Glens substitution with James Douglas replaced by Wassim Aouachria.

66: Maguire whips in a dangerous cross from the right which McGovern meets, but his flicked header is straight at Gyollai.

69: Rodney McAree looks to his bench with Bobby-Jack McAleese and Steven Scott replaced by James Knowles and Dylan King.

74: Finley Thorndike, who arrived at the Glens this summer from Birmingham City, replaces Dylan Connolly and goalscorer McGovern makes way for Andrew Mitchell.

83: Dillon bounds into space and unleashes a vicious shot from distance which Gyollai acrobatically tips over the crossbar.

86: John Scott and Leon Boyd replace Thomas Maguire and Leo Alves as McAree makes his final changes.
