The 27-year-old has already won the Irish Cup and League Cup during his three-year stay at The Showgrounds, but he is hungry for more.

“I want more silverware. That’s what you strive for, you want to win trophies,” said Carson.

“Obviously you want to do well at a personal level, but everyone at the club wants to bring more silverware.

“Hopefully we can do that.

“We’re going well at the minute. The three years I’ve been here have been brilliant, we’ve won trophies, hopefully we can push on again and win a few more.”

The former Ipswich Town man said Coleraine is reaping the rewards for the hard work of boss Oran Kearney.

“You could see what Oran was trying to do and the style of play he was implementing, and the people he wanted to bring in,” he said.

“It was a no-brainer for me to come here.

“Ever since that first moment I stepped through the door it has been fantastic.

“The club has gone from strength to strength.

“I’m glad to see us progressing and I hope we keep going now.”

The Bannsiders travel to Glenavon today with the Lurgan Blues still searching for a win, but defender Sean Ward feels they are heading in the right direction.

He said: “I thought we looked solid against Dungannon, and we can build on the clean sheet.

“Hopefully the goals will come, but if we don’t concede then we won’t lose games. That’s a platform that we will certainly be looking to take forward.”
