Keith Gillespie says he is determined to inspire the local young players to play for Bangor FC after he took on the role of Club Ambassador with his hometown team.

The role will see the former Manchester United, Newcastle and Northern Ireland star work with all players, from the youth setup to the senior team, and support the visibility and growth of the Seasiders. Gillespie, who will mentor and inspire young players at Bangor FC and play an active part in developing the club’s coaching methodology, says it is an honour for him to be involved.

“There are a myriad of important things that fall under the umbrella of a football ambassador, but nothing as important as helping local youngsters,” he told the club website.
