Tiernan Lynch’s men ran out 4-1 winners at InverPark against the Blues, who had Stephen Fallon sent off early on.

It was a tighter affair at Solitude with Dale Gorman’s 88th minute strike the clincher in the end.

At Inver it was the visitors who took the lead inside seven minutes as Navid Nasseri’s free kick was headed home by Ross Larkin.

The Blues though suffered a blow five minutes later as Fallon was shown a straight red card for pulling back Mark Randall as he bore down on goal.

The hosts levelled things up from the resulting free kick as Marty Donnelly curled a delightful effort over the wall and into the net.

Matthew Clarke had an effort tipped over by Conor Devlin before the home side edged in front.

Linfield failed to deal with Donnelly’s cross allowing Davy McDaid to nip in and score.

The ace marksman was on target again midway through the second half. It looked like his chance was gone after he lost the ball in the box, but Lee Lynch gained possession again and picked out McDaid for a tap in.

Larne wrapped up a great night with a fourth three minutes from time as John Herron headed home Donnelly’s corner.

In north Belfast both sides had chances early on through Jamie McDoangh and Joe Gormley.

Five minutes before the break Patrick McClean picked out Cameron Stewart in the box, but his header was tipped over by Brush. At the other end Conor McMenamin headed wide when he was found at the back post.

The midfielder also curled a free kick inches wide as the game moved towards the closing stages.

Just when it looked it would finish goalless up popped Gorman to win it.

He played a neat one-two on the edge of the box before lashing his shot past Brush in the home goal.
