Leeds United confirm capture of Linfield starlet Charlie Allen

Leeds United have confirmed the signing of Linfield starlet Charlie Allen on a three year contract, the Blues youngster initially linking up with the Elland Road club's Under 18 side.

The 16-year-old attacking midfielder had been attracting interest from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Glasgow Rangers with the teen excelling at Linfield under former Whites striker and now Blues boss, David Healy.

Allen made his senior debut for Linfield aged just 15 years, five months and five days on 27 April 2019 in a 1-1 draw against Coleraine, becoming the Belfast club's youngest-ever debutant and capping the appearance with an assist, setting Blues' teammate Daniel Reynolds up for Linfield's goal.

Allen was also included in Healy’s 25-man squad for a Champions League qualifier with Rosenborg and would have made competition history had he featured.

The new Whites scholar can play in attack or midfield and Linfield fans have compared Allen to Chelsea teen Billy Gilmour in terms of playing style.
