'Silverware the aim' - Aaron McEneff's trophy target at Glentoran after big transfer 'statement signing' into Irish League
After signing on the dotted line as a Glentoran player – Aaron McEneff has targeted silverware during his tenure at The Oval.
The 30-year-old put pen-to-paper on terms with Glentoran after an undisclosed fee was agreed with League of Ireland side Shamrock Rovers.
Former Tottenham Hotspur trainee McEneff arrives after gaining senior experience at the likes of Derry City, Hearts, Perth Glory and Rovers throughout his career.
Celebrated by Glens boss Declan Devine as “a statement signing”, McEneff leaves Rovers as a two-time League of Ireland and FAI Cup victor and he wants to bring that winning mentality to east Belfast.

Glentoran sit third in the Premiership standings and have progressed through to the sixth-round of the Irish Cup, as well as the semi-final of the BetMcLean Cup.
"It's great to be here,” McEneff told Glentoran TV.
"I spoke to Paddy (McCourt) at the start of the week and we had good conversations.
"I came up yesterday and met Deccy (Devine) and ‘Windy’ (Paul Millar)...I spoke to the owner (Ali Pour) on the phone and the club wants to go in a real positive direction.
"It was something that really excited me, I want to be a part of it and try and help the club kick on.
He added: "There's obviously three trophies to play for.
"I think the aim has to be to get silverware.
"That would be my aim coming in and taking each game as it comes.
"I think with the squad that's here and how I've seen how the club is looking to move forward, it's all really positive.
"I think the aim has to be silverware.”
The McEneff name is no stranger to Irish League circles as Aaron’s brother, Jordan, is currently on the books at league leaders Larne.
So, how is older brother Aaron looking forward to competing against his sibling north of the border?
"It's going to be really good sharing a pitch with him again,” he shared.
"We played against each other in the Conference League when Shamrock Rovers played Larne.
"It was good to share a pitch with him...he's doing really well at the minute but I'm looking to play against him and get one over him.”
