The 24-year-old flew to Glasgow on the same day he returned to London following his spell at Euro 2016.

Rangers have signed Hodson for an undisclosed fee from MK Dons, allowing the full-back a swift return to Scottish football following his loan spell at Kilmarnock in the second half of last season.

Hodson did not play in France but his experience with Michael O’Neill’s men has given him the drive to achieve success with Rangers.

He told the club’s official website: “It was a great experience being at the Euros and this is just the icing on the cake now to come back and sign for Rangers.

“It’s amazing - an opportunity to come to such a massive club is a dream come true.

“From the day I heard that there was an opportunity to come here my mind was made up and I couldn’t be more excited at the moment. I can’t wait to get started and meet all the lads.

“When I found out, I can’t really explain, it was one of those surreal moments where you are like ‘Wow, Rangers are possibly interested in me’.

“When I got the phone call to say to come up and get things sorted it was a proud moment for me and my family.”

Hodson played against Rangers last season in the William Hill Scottish Cup and previously worked with manager Mark Warburton at both Watford and Brentford.

The Hertfordshire-born defender can play in either full-back role and comes as much-needed cover for James Tavernier and Lee Wallace, who played every game last season.

Hodson said: “When I went through the gates I knew it was starting to become real and that the dream was starting to get closer and closer.

“Now I’m here the facilities are fantastic, I’ve never been to a training ground like it.”

Meanwhile, Nicky Law has been reunited with Stuart McCall at Bradford after leaving Rangers at the end of last season.

The midfielder has signed a two-year deal with Bradford to work again with McCall following an earlier spell with the Bantams as well as stints together at Sheffield United, Motherwell and Ibrox.
