POST-MATCH VERDICT: ‘Fine margins’ ultimately decided Irish Cup semi-final, says Larne boss Gary Haveron
Gary Haveron believes ‘fine margins’ cost his side a spot in next month’s Irish Cup final after they were beaten by Coleraine.
Here’s what he had to say after the 2-1 extra-time loss to the Bannsiders at Windsor Park.
I’M SURE YOU’RE DISAPPOINTED?
“Of course, absolutely. I'm not going to say anything other.

"The objective was to come and try and get to an Irish Cup final.
"I think whenever there's a couple of close teams and that there, there's going to be small margins, and that's what it was today, it was the finest of margins.
“You've got to take your chances when they come along. I felt that we got off to a really good start, we started brightly and then found ourselves 1-0 down.
“It was a wee bit against the run of play, because I thought we did settle into the game really well.
"Their keeper has made a brilliant save from Sean Graham's strike from the edge of the box and another one flashed across the box.
"They didn't offer too much and then they get in and we switch off. The goal was a wee bit too easy for our liking.
MESSAGE AT HALF-TIME?
“We got in at half-time and we got round each other.
"A few home truths again, as always, there always is in the dressing room.
"We came out really well in the second half and we rightfully got back into the game, with their keeper again making two unbelievable saves.
"The one he picks out at the bottom right-hand corner from Andy Ryan...I don't know how he's kept that out.
"The goal that we scored and that...Aaron Donnelly's had a shot blocked and a few other ones.
"We looked like we could have won the game in the 90 minutes, but when you dragged into extra time, I have to say I felt their subs made a really good impact for them.
"I thought (Dylan) Boyle in particular showed good energy to get on the ball and enthusiasm to get on the ball and they made a wee bit more of an impact than ours did, meaning they got the wee bit of the upper hand in the second half.
"We've just switched off, it just falls in that awkward position between the goalkeeper and the defender. We just switched off for a split second and that's what it takes.
"In fact, Shevlin’s probably got lucky because it looks like it's hit him in his chest and then hit him in his face and gone in the back of the net.
“On another day, it maybe slides off him and goes wide, but today was their day and good luck to them in the final.
MISTAKE FROM ROHAN FERGUSON:
"Yeah, he just missed it.
"He came and he tried to sweep away and he just missed it.
"It was a very uncharacteristic mistake from him but he made a good save in the game from Shevlin from close range, where he got through and he poked it and he was very close to him.
"But other than that, he's been by and large a passenger...he hasn't had a save to make in the whole game.
"So maybe sometimes that impacts you too. He was standing in the pouring rain for 120 minutes and that there just, by and large, just passing the ball backwards and forwards.
