Falkirk are a decent side - we’ve played them three times now and they’ve given us a hard time in each of those games.

“We know we can do better – we tried to do the right things throughout the whole game but we perhaps lacked a bit of quality in the final third.

“The main thing was to get the three points. This was one of those games where you have to win ugly and fortunately we were able to do that. The sign of a good team is to win when not playing well.”

Like everyone at Ibrox Foderingham was delighted for debutant Billy King who made a dream impact after coming on as a substitute with a last-minute winner.

“It’s a special moment for Billy - and the boys are very happy for him. You can see that from the celebrations at the end, it was perfect. James Tavernier has put a great ball in and it was a great finish from Billy.”

Like any ‘keeper Foderingham was delighted to keep a clean sheet.

“I managed to make a couple of saves and the boys in front of me did really well defensively - so it was pleasing to keep a clean sheet.”

For Ibroxboss Mark Warburton there was relief at the win but the perfectionist in him recognised that the performance was far from perfect.

“It was great for the players and it was great for the crowd as it’s a big result and a big three points. To get the win that late in the game was fantastic.

“When the ball came out to Tavernier, I’m looking up to see where our width was and it wasn’t there. However then then you see that King has timed his run really well and his technique and eye for goal were great, so we are delighted for him. It was a great header to win it. We knew that we weren’t at our best but sometimes you have to win ugly and those were a big three points.”
