Roofe has joined the Scottish Premiership outfit after just one season with Anderlecht.

The former Whites striker made 122 appearances in total for the Elland Road club - scoring 32 goals in the process - before his departure last summer.

The West Bromwich Albion academy graduate played a key role in Marcelo Bielsa's 2018-19 debut campaign as he scored 15 goals in Championship action before play-off defeat.

Roofe made his exit from West Yorkshire last August after entering the final year of his contract, bringing a three-year spell in LS11 to a close having joined from Oxford United in 2016.

The 27-year-old endured an injury-hit campaign in Belgium but did bag six times in just 13 league appearances under Vincent Kompany.

Roofe, though, is now on the move again having put pen to paper on a four-year deal at Ibrox under head coach Steven Gerrard.

He told the official club website: "I am delighted to join Rangers and look forward to meeting up with my new team-mates.

"Rangers are a huge club, with ambition and I know this is the right fit for me to progress my career.

"I am looking forward to experiencing Ibrox and I'm excited to play in Europe.”

Roofe also recently reflected on his time with Leeds in March, saying: "For me, all the teams I’ve played at, I’ve still got a piece of them in my heart,” said Roofe.

"They all mean something to me, especially Leeds.

"They are a massive club and I still have a lot of friends there. I still watch them every week and see how they are doing.

"I think when you’ve played for a club like that, it’s hard not to. It becomes part of you."
