Leona Maguire (Slieve Russell) and Olivia Mehaffey (Royal County Down Ladies) will take to the course amongst the best golfers in the world.

Also in the field are world number one Lydia Ko, who just came off another win in the LPGA Marathon Classic, Paula Creamer, Laura Davies, Brooke Henderson and Brittany Lang, to name just a few.

There are only seven amateurs in the field, as world number 1 amateur Hannah O’Sullivan, number 3 Bronte Law, number 4 Maria Parra Luque, number 10 Luna Sobron and number 22 Julia Engstrom join Mehaffey and Maguire.

Maguire played in the Women’s US Open earlier this month at Cordevalle, California and missed the cut by one.

However, she will now switch focus to the Women’s British Open and then to the Olympics, where she will represent Team Ireland alongside Stephanie Meadow, Padraig Harrington and Seamus Power.

Mehaffey has a busy few weeks on the road as she played the European Ladies’ Amateur Championship last week and finished third.

She is playing the Home International Matches at Conwy, Wales next week and will then begin college life at Arizona State University.
