Insight into Rory McIlroy's PGA Championship equipment changes from 2014 win to 2024 bid

The Valhalla course is, of course, hosting a major this year for the first time since the PGA Championship in 2014.
That tournament remains memorable as McIlroy’s last major win, a fourth of his career, thanks to the one-stroke success over Phil Mickelson.

“(Rory) McIlroy is still donning Nike hats, clothes and shoes, but his equipment looks entirely different in 2024 than it did in 2014,” stated the PGA Tour.com analysis. “He still uses the same shafts in his irons and some of his wedges, but that’s about where the similarities end.
“Back in 2014, McIlroy was a full-time Nike staffer, which meant he used 14 Nike clubs. Of course, Nike no longer manufactures golf equipment, and McIlroy officially signed a deal with TaylorMade in 2017.”
