Rory McIlroy's Masters career in numbers ahead of title defence
Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy will defend his Masters title at Augusta after completing the career grand slam with an emotional victory last year.
McIlroy joined Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods in an elite group of golfers to have won every major with a play-off victory against Justin Rose.
The 36-year-old’s form in two events last month was not that encouraging but McIlroy is hoping a return to the scene of arguably his most emotional victory will bring out the best in him.
Ahead of Thursday’s opening round, McIlroy said: “I’ve won it once, and I feel like that will make it a bit easier for me to win again.

“I don’t think there was any round of golf that I’d played before that can compare to the feelings and the emotions I went through that Sunday.”
McIlroy’s chief rivals include world number one Scottie Scheffler, LIV Golf’s Bryson DeChambeau – fresh from back-to-back victories in Singapore and South Africa, Jon Rahm, Ludvig Aberg, Matt Fitzpatrick and Xander Schauffele.
Here, the Press Association looks at McIlroy’s career at Augusta National in numbers as the Holywood man attempts to win back-to-back green jackets at the iconic tournament.
