Good relations workshops get underway in Belfast

The first of a series of workshops have been kicked-off by the Department of Culture Arts and Leisure and Sport Northern Ireland at which over 200 grassroots sports clubs and community organisations will receive assistance to enhance good relations work in their area.

All clubs and organisations participating will also receive a dedicated sports kitbag worth £1,000.

The Good Relations Workshops are taking place across Northern Ireland’s eleven district council areas, and the first session got underway on Monday at Girdwood Community Hub in Belfast.

The workshops and kitbags are being offered in collaboration with the Department of Culture Arts and Leisure and OFMDFM in support of the Northern Ireland Executive’s Together: Building a United Community (TBUC) Strategy.

Commenting on the initiative, the Minister said: “These workshops and kitbags will be used to build good relations and encourage participation.
