The Honda Racing rider passed Vickers around the outside in Sunday’s race two, but there was contact between the pair, who both crashed out.

After reviewing the incident, Race Direction imposed the penalty on the Honda Racing rider and enabled two of the three suspended penalty points that were imposed on August 9, following Irwin’s clash with Australian rider Josh Brookes at Donington Park.

On that occasion, Brookes crashed out after Irwin attempted a pass on his inside on the run towards Craner Curves.

Irwin had qualified on the front row in third place for race three at Snetterton but will now line up on row two in sixth position.

The 25-year-old crashed out of Saturday’s first race at the Norfolk track after starting from the rear of the grid. Irwin, a double winner at Donington, has now slipped to sixth in the standings following his second successive DNF at Snetterton.
