Carl Phillips holds off Jonny Campbell for Ulster Superbike double at Bishopscourt to mainain unbeaten start - Korie McGreevy ruled out

Carl Phillips wrapped up a double to make it four wins from four in the Ulster Superbike Championship after coming out on top of a battle with Jonny Campbell at Bishopscourt in Co Down.

Phillips led over the line on each of the 12 laps on his Bell Bikesport/B&W Racing BMW and eventually secured his second successive double by two seconds from Campbell (155 Racing BMW) at the Temple Motorcycle Club’s meeting.

However, reigning champion Phillips had to work hard for the win after being pushed by Campbell, who set the fastest lap of the race in 1m 06.279s and was only two tenths down on the race leader after nine laps, albeit with slower riders entering the fray at the chicane.

Phillips was able to pull out a slight advantage in the closing stages over 2024 champion Campbell and was ahead by half a second after 10 laps.

Phillips has started the defence of his crown with a perfect 100 points from the first two rounds.

McAdoo Racing Kawasaki’s Korie McGreevy, who crashed out of the first Superbike race and was a faller for a second time in the opening Davy Morgan Memorial Supersport race, was a non-starter.

Ryan Gibson was fourth on the Gibson Motors/Firewood Supplies BMW ahead of Luke Jones (SBT Racing Ducati) and Derek Sheils (Cosmic Racing BMW).

Ross Irwin finished seventh on the Magic Bullet Honda with Jamie Lyons, who had been running as high as third in the early stages, taking eighth on the JLR Ability Energy Ltd Honda ahead of Mike Browne (BPE by Russell Racing Honda).
