Classic TT: Organisers set to issue noon update following 'unexpected' rain on Sunday

The organisers of the Classic TT say they will issue a noon update on Sunday after unexpected rain on the Isle of Man.

Two Classic TT races are scheduled on Sunday afternoon, with the Formula One race set for a 13:30 BST start and the Lightweight/Ultra-Lightweight race at 15:30 BST.

Roads remain scheduled to close at 12:45 BST following unexpected rain on the west of the island and the organisers hope roads will have dried on time to enable racing to begin as planned.

An update on Sunday morning said: “An unexpected shower has passed over the Island, leaving damp patches on the west of the Island.

“At this time, it is hoped these sections will have dried sufficiently for racing to take place as scheduled, and roads are still scheduled to close at 12:45.

“A further update will be issued at approximately 12:00.”
