Hide AdCoroner Jayne Hughes said his death had been a “tragic accident” as the inquest heard he appeared to be travelling too fast heading towards the Ballaugh jump.
Witnesses reported that his machine reached a “staggering” height before crashing to the ground, colliding with the end property of a row of cottages opposite The Raven pub.
A verdict of accidental death was recorded at Douglas Courthouse.
No evidence of mechanical failure was discovered and drugs or alcohol played no part in the accident, which happened in “perfect conditions” for racing.

Protective barriers were not in place at the scene of the accident, but were later put in place for the remainder of the races.
