Davey Todd hoping to make racing comeback at Scarborough Gold Cup meeting after six-month injury absence
Davey Todd is hoping to make his racing comeback at this weekend’s 80th anniversary Gold Cup meeting at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough.
Todd hasn’t raced competitively since he crashed at the Daytona 200 in March, when his injuries included two broken legs.

The Saltburn man missed the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT as a result.
Todd’s participation at Oliver’s Mount is subject to him passing a medical assessment on Friday.
The 30-year-old’s 8TEN Racing team-mate Peter Hickman is also entered along with fellow TT winner and Honda Racing rider Dean Harrison.
A strong line-up includes Cork’s Mike Browne on the BPE by Russell Racing Yamaha, although there is a question mark over team-mate Richard Cooper, who is due to undertake testing duties with Triumph this weekend in Spain.
British Superbike rider and North West 200 winner Storm Stacey will miss the event after confirming he is unable to race due to “unfortunate circumstances”.
Banbridge man Shaun Anderson is also entered, with Oliver’s Mount regular Rob Hodson another leading contender.
To mark the 80th anniversary of the famous meeting at England’s only road race, several parade laps will be held when the line-up features TT winners John McGuinness and Steve Plater, plus BSB and record NW200 Superbike winner Glenn Irwin.
Former Gold Cup winner Ivan Lintin also returns to participate in the parade laps while ex-Sidecar world champion and TT winner Ben Birchall lines up in the Sidecar races with passenger Mark Wilkes.
Practice and qualifying takes place on Friday, with racing on Saturday and Sunday.
