The Saltburn rider will compete on a Honda CBR600RR for the Northern Ireland outfit after agreeing terms with team owner Darren Gilpin at the weekend.

The 26-year-old said: “I am really excited to be joining Wilson Craig Racing for the Scarborough Spring Cup event. It’s a local event to me and I’ve not had a lot of chances to race there, so I’m excited to be going with a good bike underneath me and a good team behind me.”

Todd rode for Honda Racing in 2020 in the National Superstock 1000 Championship and was also set to contest the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT on the all-new Fireblade, until both events were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The North Yorkshireman impressed on his last appearance at the TT as he lapped at 131.491mph on his way to sixth place in the Senior race in only his second appearance at the event.

WCR team owner Gilpin said: “We are greatly excited to have Davey on board with us for the Scarborough Spring Cup event, and I know the whole team are looking forward to be working with Davey.

“Davey’s results over the past couple of seasons have been nothing short of incredible, and it’s good to have someone with his pedigree on one of our Supersport machines at Scarborough next month.”

The Spring Cup meeting will take place from May 22-23, when the line-up will also include Paul Jordan and Mike Browne on John Burrows’ RK Racing machines.
