Martin competed at the event last year on the Honda Racing Fireblade after he made his comeback in the sport, joining John McGuinness in the team.

The English star endured a tumultuous season, with Honda Racing withdrawing from the North West 200 after McGuinness crashed in practice, while Martin himself was fortunate to escape injury in a big spill in the Superbike race at the Isle of Man TT. Honda later pulled out of the Senior race and Martin’s short-lived association with the team ended soon afterwards.

On Tuesday night, a statement issued by the North Armagh Motorcycle & Car Club Ltd said: “Guy will compete in both the Classic Race and the Forgotten Era Class on board his 750cc BSA machine.

“Guy appeared last year at Tandragee and also in 2005, where he finished third and fifth in the Superbike races and fourth in the 600cc event in the Uel Duncan Racing colours.

“We certainly hope that Guy loves this fast and technical course, but most of all, that he enjoys himself this year at the Around a Pound Tandragee 100 National Motorcycle Road Races.”

The Tandragee 100 will take place from May 4-5.
