Manx Grand Prix: Johnny Stewart stunned by 'very special' four-timer as Limavady's Graham McAleese 'definitely sweating' on podium hopes
Scotland’s Johnny Stewart admitted his historic four-timer at the Manx Grand Prix was “very special” after completing a clean sweep with victory in the headline Okell’s Senior race.
Stewart followed up his Sportbike and Supersport double on Saturday, when he became the first rider to win two races in a day at the event, with another brace on Monday.
He was declared the winner of the red-flagged Junior MGP race on his Aprilia, which was stopped after Republic of Ireland rider Liam Chawke crashed at the Black Dub on the Jack Reid Cars/KMR Kawasaki.
Chawke was airlifted to hospital with suspected leg injuries following the incident.

Stewart wrapped up an unprecedented quadruple with a commanding performance on the LPA Racing Ducati Panigale V2, winning by 35.238s from England’s Eddy Worlmald, who claimed the runner-up spot by 10.844s from Limavady’s Graham McAleese.
Stewart set the fastest lap of the race on the second lap at 122.038mph and established a new race record for the four-lap event in in 1h 15m 24.360s, which was 33 seconds faster than Donegal man Caomhan Canny’s winning time from 2025.
“We were having a bit of a nightmare last week just with getting parts and stuff and it just didn’t feel like anything was going right,” said Stewart. “Then to come here… what a result.
“It was great, I just pushed away at the start, was steady and sat comfortable and just managed the gap and try and keep it consistent.

“It’s very special and it’s going to take a lot to top that.”
Northern Ireland’s McAleese claimed his maiden MGP podium in Saturday’s Supersport race and repeated the feat with an excellent ride to the third on the Michael Dunlop-prepared Yamaha R6.
“My fuel light came on at Parliament Square,” McAleese revealed.
“I thought, ‘oh no’ and I just eased off over the Mountain and thought hopefully I’d make it for third.
“I came up out of the Nook and went to give fourth and fifth gear and she just died away down and then away she went again. I don’t know how much is left in it to be honest.
“I was definitely sweating on that last lap!
“It’s fantastic and we came here with the intention of being on the podium with both bikes,” added McAleese, who set his fastest lap in the race at McAleese lapped at 120.425mph on the second lap.
“We had a wee bit of trouble with the twin all week but in fairness to the lads, they worked really hard and gave me the best bike possible.
“The 600 never missed a beat and I want to say a big thanks to Michael Dunlop for providing a great bike again.
“It was just perfect, we came here to do a 120 [mph lap] and we done a couple, so I’m happy. Another podium, it’s great.”
Newcomer Kevin Lavery finished seventh on the Traynors Motorstore Yamaha R6 in another fine result for the Dungannon man, who sealed a sensational podium on his debut in Saturday’s Sportbike race.
Owen Monaghan (Alan Chamley/AC Racing Suzuki GSX-R750) was fourth ahead of Harley Rushton (PCR/Allspeeds Racing Kawaski 636), while Frenchman Gabriel Pons rounded out the top six on the Kart Taylor Transports Honda CBR600.
Lavery claimed seventh, with fellow newcomer Laurent Hoffmann in eighth on the Bell Bikesport/B&W Racing/Parker Transport Yamaha R6 despite receiving a penalty for speeding in pit lane.
