May start date for 2021 World Superbike Championship as Assen postponed
Originally scheduled to lift the curtain on the new season from April 23-25, the ‘Cathedral’ will now host round five of the championship from July 23-25 after the local authorities ruled out any major events in Drenthe until June 1.
The decision means that Estoril in Portugal, where the championship concluded last October, will kick-start the 12-round calendar from May 7-9.
