Mid Antrim 150: Friday action at wet Clough delayed ahead of busy practice and race schedule

The first day of action at the Richard King Mid Antrim 150 was delayed on Friday, with wet weather at the Co Antrim course.

Roads closed around the 3.5-mile course at 8am on Friday and can remain open to 9pm.

The first bikes went out on the course shortly before 1pm.

A busy schedule on Friday includes untimed newcomers’ practice, free practice sessions for the Classic, Support, Lightweight and Superbike/Supersport classes, and final qualifying sessions.

The schedule also includes parade laps, with TT Sidecar winners Ryan and Callum Crowe due to complete demonstrations laps this weekend in addition to solo parade laps marking the 40th anniversary of the passing of Neil Robinson and Gene McDonnell, who were killed in 1986 at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough and the TT respectively.

Two races are part of Friday’s schedule at the Mid Antrim, with a non-championship Senior Support and Supersport races due following the completion of qualifying in the evening.
