Northern Ireland’s Mar-Train Racing team has joined forces with McAMS for the 2024 British Superbike Championship.

McAMS, a motorcycle accident management company, were the title sponsors of the Raceways Motorcycles outfit from 2017 until the end of the 2023 season, with the McAMS Yamaha team winning 46 BSB races and clinching the title in 2021 with Tarran Mackenzie.

A two-year deal has been confirmed and the Lisburn-based team – twice winners of the British Supersport Championship with Stuart Easton and Jack Kennedy – will be known as McAMS Racing by Mar-Train Yamaha.

Kent made his debut for the team on thew YZF-R1 at the end-of-season Sunflower Trophy meeting at Bishopscourt in County Down last month, finishing third in the feature race behind fellow BSB rider Charlie Nesbitt and Donegal man Richard Kerr.

In August, Raceways Motorcycles announced they would no longer continue to run Yamaha’s official BSB effort, with OMG Racing stepping up to fulfil the role next season as Kyle Ryde and Ryan Vickers lead the charge in an unchanged line-up.

However, Steve Rodgers and his Raceways Motorcycles team will be on board with Mar-Train in 2024 as a technical sponsor.

Former McAMS Yamaha technical director Chris Anderson has also joined the team for next year following the departure of crew chief Andy Jamison.

Team boss Martin said: “We are delighted to welcome McAMS on board and launch the new McAMS Racing team.

“Valentina [Slater, Sales Director at McAMS] and the guys at McAMS are pure motorcycle racing fans and they have been huge supporters of our sport for more than a decade, so we are honoured to have them on board for 2024 and 2025 as we look to make the next step in the Superbike class.

“The very recognisable McAMS logo on the side of a Yamaha R1 has got quite the record in Bennetts BSB, so we will do our very best to represent them at the highest level. The bike looks great, so we can’t wait to get started properly.”

A new-look British Superbike calendar commences next year with the first round taking place at Navarra in Spain in April, replacing Silverstone as the curtain-raiser.
